Hamilton Medical Research Group (HMRG) is a clinical research site in Hamilton. We run Phase II to IV drug trials for global pharmaceutical sponsors in cardiovascular disease, diabetes, obesity, respiratory, renal and vaccine research, with a small team of coordinators and physicians led by Dr. Richard Tytus.
What you’ll do
- Receive investigational product: check it against the packing list and temperature record, confirm receipt in the sponsor’s IRT, store it, and keep accountability logs ready for the monitor.
- Be the second check on investigational product when a protocol or pharmacy manual calls for one.
- Process blood and urine samples exactly as the lab manual says: spin, separate, aliquot, label and freeze.
- Pack and ship ambient, refrigerated and frozen (dry ice) samples, book couriers and track every box to the central lab.
- Keep lab kits and shipping supplies stocked and in date.
- Enter visit data into sponsor EDC systems and help close queries.
- Take vital signs and ECGs, and draw blood if you’re certified.
What you bring
- 2+ years of hands-on work with patients or clinical samples, ideally at a clinical research site on industry-sponsored drug trials.
- Hands-on experience collecting, processing or shipping samples, ideally to a central lab manual.
- Data entry in a sponsor EDC system (for example Medidata Rave, Veeva or InForm).
- Current GCP training and TDG/IATA certification for Category B specimens and dry ice. If yours has lapsed, we’ll get you recertified.
- A plus: receiving investigational product in an IRT and keeping accountability logs, and phlebotomy certification.
- Care with detail. You catch the wrong tube or kit number before it leaves the building.
