First participant randomized in a Roche Phase III study

The first participant has been randomized in a Phase III cardiometabolic study sponsored by Roche, the first randomization in HMRG's newly expanded clinical trials suites on Victoria Avenue North.

On June 10, 2026, the team at Hamilton Medical Research Group randomized the first participant in a Phase III cardiometabolic study sponsored by Roche, in our newly expanded clinical trials suites.

The pace tells the story. Roche activated the site on May 4, 2026, the formal green light to begin screening. The first participant was screened the next day. By May 7, within 72 hours of activation, every screening slot the sponsor had allocated to the site for the month was filled.

That readiness is not an accident. HMRG's investigators are practicing family physicians who have incorporated clinical trials into their clinical practice, so new and ongoing studies become part of their everyday conversations with patients. A coordination team that spent the weeks before activation building source documents, completing training, and pre-screening did the rest.

Screening continues; anyone wondering what taking part in a clinical trial involves can read more first. To our participants: thank you for the trust you place in us. A milestone like this one belongs to you first.

Sponsors and CROs evaluating site capacity for upcoming Phase II–IV programs can start a conversation with our clinical operations team, or review our site capabilities.
